DON ROBERTSON

My name is Don Robertson and I was born outside of Baltimore in the year of 1959. My parents were hard working, blue collar types, of which I am very proud. I found that I excelled in sports and was natural in baseball. I pitched and was told I was pretty good. It was good enough to land me a scholarship at The University of Tampa but soon found out that life offered hardships. I was injured in my second year and lost my ride, but was too proud to come home with my tail tucked between my legs. So I stayed in Tampa and went to work full time at nights while attending classes in the daytime. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business and then came home to Maryland.

In 1981, I fell in love, married and moved to PA. Here, after several jobs with large retailers, I found my calling in the floor covering field. I started out in King of Prussia, PA with Color Tile. I had a manager at the time who believed in “hands-on” training, so my orientation was actually as a helper for every flooring job we installed. This truly helped me realize just what it takes or requires to not only do the job correctly, but all the required steps involved. I was hired as a salesman and within 2 years, I was running my own store.

When Color Tile dissolved (I assure you I was not to blame), I was hired by a wholesale flooring company called General Flooring. General Flooring sold to the trade only and this again allowed me, to know more installers and to see first-hand the good and the bad on the labor side. Some people tell me I should write a book about my experiences. I think if I did, it would shock the industry.

Life was good at this time with the Robertson’s and I was blessed with a son. Also during this time, my wife and I were yearning to return to Maryland and decided that Ocean City would be where we would raise our son.

Wishing to stay in the flooring covering field, I acquired a position as a Territory Sales Rep. with Mohawk Industries. My territory would cover the entire Delmarva Peninsula and included 120 retail store accounts. For many years I serviced my dealers and established a long friendship with many that continues today. I excelled at my position. Having been on the retail side I understood their troubles and concerns. I was able to assist them and help them expand their market. When I decided to stop being a “Road Warrior”, I left Mohawk with a portfolio that was double of when I started.

After leaving Mohawk, my life took a few unexpected turns. A divorce left me in a state uncertain of the future. But I renewed my faith and was rewarded with a woman who was heaven sent. I have returned to the retail side of flooring and after working for a couple of the local stores, I have decided to open my own store. I ask you to please visit Sea Floor Carpet, Hardwood, and More.

So, as you see, I am knowledgeable in all facets of flooring. I enjoy working with the public and believe I can assist families with your flooring needs. I believe in being totally honest, so be careful what you ask me. I love music from the 40’s through the 80’s and still collect Hot Wheel redline die-cast cars. I love old Hot Rod cars and have the deepest admiration and respect for any man or woman who has served our great country.Thank You for reading and I look forward to having you as a client.

TABITHA

My name is Tabitha. I was born and raised in Harford County, MD. Fifteen years ago I married my wonderful husband Rick and moved to Ocean City. My greatest accomplishments are my two beautiful teenage witches, Samantha and Sabrina. If you haven’t picked up on it already our names are (Bewitching). My experience is mostly in hospitality. I started working in restaurants when I was sixteen working my way up into management. I have learned through the years a great product along with great service makes lifelong repeat customers. For the past 10 years, I managed a local restaurant where I met Don and Vanessa. They both became a part of my family. I have always believed that everything happens for a reason. The restaurant I worked for went out of business and for the first time in 15 years I was unemployed. One day while at the store I ran into Don and Vanessa, they asked me if I would be interested in helping them with getting their books started for their new venture Sea Floor Carpet. Without hesitation, I said yes.

Don has introduced me to all the representatives for all the products that we carry. As I am new to the flooring business I am excited to take on this new and interesting venture to see where it leads me. In my spare time, I love baking, cooking and spending as much time with my family as I can. In conclusion, I can sum up myself with two words "Mary Poppin's" I strive to be Practically Perfect in every way.

SONYA

My name is Sonya Frable. I was born and raised in Sussex County, Delaware and a high school graduate of Indian River High. I am the youngest of 3 girls in my family. A natural born dreamer I knew I had to spread my wings and see what else is out there, so I migrated south to the state of Georgia in late December of 2003.

Early January, I landed a job working for a flooring retail store in Habersham County knowing absolutely nothing about flooring, but the owners must have seen something promising in me. They were a family owned business that had the patience to teach me the ropes of the flooring retail world. I was also very involved in my local church where I volunteered in media and music ministry, college and career ministry, and missions.

In the Spring of 2009, I had reconnected online with a friend of mine named Brian. After several months of Facebook messenger, we decided it was time to meet back up in person. I visited back home to Delaware in June 2009, and an instant connection sparked. We just knew a long distant relationship would not work so not even a month later we had made the decision for me to move back to Delaware. The experience in flooring I received in Georgia helped me land a job with a local flooring store on the shore and blessed me with an additional 8 years of experience in flooring. During that time, Brian and I got married in January 2012, and in December 2013 we welcomed our awesome son, Ryker. We also have a sweet German shepherd dog named Zaida, who completes our family.

Although I was just fine where I was at with wonderful coworkers and clients, I knew my son would eventually be going to school full time and his new schedule would only give us nights together. I prayed diligently for an opportunity to come around that would offer me more time with him. They grow up so fast! Prayers were answered at the end of September when owner and friend, Don Robertson, reached out to me and offered me the Design Consultant position here at Sea Floor Carpet. I fit right in this great group of people and look forward to many wonderful years here. I am so excited to meet and assist you with your flooring projects!

JENNIFER

I loved growing up in Ocean City in the 70's. I knew the ins and outs of the town and I have fond memories of my childhood here with my mom and siblings. I moved to Northern Virginia around 4th grade with my father, My mom stayed here, and I spent nearly every summer down here. I have always had an adventurous spirit that has taken me to a few other states, always looking to set down some roots. I have lived in Virginia, North Carolina and two different stints in Colorado.

I have spent the majority of my adult working life, working retail. I worked for a big box store for nearly 25 years, that allowed me to move around. I have always been a gypsy soul and my adventurous spirit took me away from retail, allowing me to work independently. I was fortunate enough to spend nearly 3 years traveling all around the west in a Sprinter Van. I traveled from New Mexico to Washington and everywhere in-between, I saw some of the most amazing places.
I returned to Maryland in March of 2020. My family has remained here, and they welcomed me back with open arms. I am close to my family here and have settled in.
I bring with me nearly 21 years of flooring knowledge and in a whole I have 35 years in customer service-related fields. I love learning about my customers' needs and truly helping them find what suits them in creating their home environment.

In my spare time, I love to travel and adventure. I enjoy the beach, however, love the mountains as well. I have 2 crazy, loving and loyal dogs, Hank & Waylon that I love to spend my time with. I also enjoy crafting , thrifting and checking out antique stores. I love visiting our National Parks and have been to over 30 of them (many of them multiple times)

I am so very excited to be a part of Don's team here at Sea Floor and can see myself quickly becoming a part of their family, and yours.
Cheers!!
Jen
